Aunt Sunny was truly the kindest person I have ever met. She was a giving and caring woman who loved her family dearly. Although it took her about 20 years to warm up to me since I married her favorite nephew Jim, and she would be the first to admit this, I was eventually welcomed into the family fold where she would love you with all her heart. She will always be lovingly remembered ❤️

My Aunt Sunny was full of love, sorrow, and a passion for her family, and those she considered family. I saw her selflessly take on others problems and help offer solutions time and time again. She cared for her grandson Jayden's well being, the success of her granddaugher Katie, and always spoke of how handsome her grandson Ryan was in his BMW. She loved her sister Judi and was happy to live close and help care for her and her husband Joe when there were a few health setbacks. She enjoyed being close and attending church with her sister most of all. Her passion to volunteer at church always amazed me. She never did anything halfway, because she was a woman of strong faith. She loved her late husband Jim, and how much joy he brought to her life while they were together. His songs and poems and his love for his animals brought her smiles. When she lost Jim, she lost a small part of herself, and would rarely be able to reminisce of him, or his memory without shedding tears. Sometimes of sweet joy, but often of hollow sadness. She loved her children and the bond she had seperately with all of them. She loved how her daughter Denise always bought her the best gifts. She loved her neighbors, and those that she made connections with in the community. She loved butterflies, QVC and always loved a good yard sale. She was a bargainsta and always landed herself the best deals at the grocery store and even Lowes!! She loved her 2nd mom, Penny and was so thankful for their relationship. She cared for her friends Sherri and Jimmy and how she could rely on Sherri to take her to the store, or keep her company. She made the best meatballs and spaghetti sauce, ambrosia, and the best chicken salad. She could make a meal out of nothing and her fridge and freezer always had an abundance of food. She didn't know how to cook for anything less than a crowd. She always prayed before she ate, and always always always made her bed as soon as she got out of it. She always had a fresh manicure and smile to match. She watched my twins for years, and their friends before and after school, and was referred to as Aunt Sunny. She never forgot anyones birthday, always had a birthday card and cupckaes ready! She was the soul of kindness I want to be when I grow up. She loved me, and understood me. She always made sure I knew she was proud of me and more importantly how my mother would be too. I am a better person because she was in my life.

Mike and I are so sorry to hear of Sunny's passing. I know Sunny was her nickname, but she certainly lived up to it. She and Jim were good friends to my late parents, John and Claire Morra. Especially when my dad was declining, she was always concerned about his well being and tried to cheer him when his wife passed away. She was also a ray of sunshine to my late mother-in-law, Rosalie, who was always glad to see Sunny. May she rest in peace. I will miss her. Kathleen Morra-Sloan

Sunny was one of those rare people who always had a smile on her face. She was so good to my grand daughter and Mattie would always have to sit with her at church functions when we went. I have such a good memory of the last time I visited with her. I took her out some food and we talked for a couple of hours. I knew she was in pain and was saddened by some things but I also know she was ready to meet the Lord and to see Jim again. Always a friend when you needed one. I will miss the old Sunny before Cancer but I celebrate her homegoing where she won't be in pain any more. Your sister in Christ Mary

Denise:
This is John Keeley from Transfiguration Catholic Church in Fincastle, VA. Thank you for the pics. Most of us here had not seen Sunny in some time. I am happy for her and you that she moved back up to PA to be with family prior to her passing. Yes, Sunny was one of Jesus' " Shining Lights on a lamp post", always smiling, always helping and always loving. We miss her so much.
