My Favorite Remembrance
I remember one Christmas we were buying delicious, homemade, cookies from a local bakery for gifts to staff at The Lincoln Center’s Holiday Party. We figured we needed about 20 dozen cookies, so Beth, as our Chief Financial Officer and Head of Personnel, placed the order. When they were ready, Rob D’Alonzo, our Director of Clinical Services, volunteered to go pick them up. When he arrived back at TLC, he walked in with his arms laden with cookie bags, but asking for help unloading. Good grief, we thought, how many trips to the car does it take to bring up 20 small bags of cookies! Twenty bags, he exclaimed, I have 200 bags!
Beth quickly checked the order. Yep, 200 dozen delicious cookies had been ordered! Chocolate, coconut, snicker doodles, peanut butter, peppermint, strawberry, hazelnut, and numerous other flavors awaited us in Rob’s over-stuffed car downstairs!
Needless to say, Beth was embarrassed and apologetic! Even offering to pay for the extra cookies. Beth, our stalwart, fiscal, overseer sure took a lot of ribbing that Christmas from myself and others on the Executive Team!
Anyway, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it turned into a very positive PR event. It was a great reminder to our school districts, gov’t agencies, and other customers, that The Lincoln Center appreciated their business. They, along with our families and our children, all received TLC cookies that year as a big Thank You and Merry Christmas from TLC! I think the note said, “Enjoy a little TLC this holiday season!”
I smile every time as I think of all the clerical errors Beth could have committed over our 20 years of working together, the only one she ever made was ordering extra Christmas cookies!
My thoughts and prayers are with you Rob and Matt!

Dearest Beth,
I don’t know what to say. This was not supposed to happen. Clearly I was the oldest and next to go! We both knew that. You were always so full of life! Your beautiful smile lit up every day of work. It was you that we all relied on! Honest, accurate, thoughtful, smart energetic, caring, kind, tough, knowledgeable, and so much more! And now you are gone. I don’t know what to say. Except thank you! Thank you for being you! Thank you for showing us what a life full of caring really means. Thank you for your commitment to The Lincoln Center. And thank you for your outstanding contribution to our children and families! Thank you for making my job easy and fun. Thank you for making me a better person. We loved you and we always will! Thank you for sharing your extraordinary life with us!

Beth was a warm and generous person and always had a smile. I knew her for ten years or so through our membership in the Institute of Management Accountants. My deepest sympathy to her family. She will be sorely missed.

I have known and have been a friend of Beths for over 30 years. She was a very kind, thoughtful and caring person. She always made herself available to help others and advocated for many in need. We went to Temple together, joined and participated in the Institute of Management Accountants, worked together and created the "Temple Girls" group of 5 women about 20 years ago. The group will not be the same without Beth. She was the organizer of many of our events and lately, due to covid, opened her home to us so that we could get together. I am truly going to miss Beth. God bless her and may she rest in peace.
