Obituary of John Joseph Foley

John Joseph Foley, 79, of Royersford, PA, formerly of Trooper, PA, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Pottstown Hospital.

 

He was the husband of Joan S. (Moreland) Foley, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

 

Born in Norristown, PA, on July 6, 1942, Jack was the son of the late Joseph Eugene Foley and Evelyn Veronica (Powers) Foley.

 

Jack was an entrepreneur and owned Zimmerman Inc. with his partner Jack Ochnich. He was a beloved coach who taught his children softball and baseball—an avid hunter, golfer, bowler, and Eagle Scout. He also developed long-lasting relationships while serving his time in the United States Air Force.

Jack was a kind and loving partner to his wife, Joan, and a caring father to his children Jacqui, JoAnna and Sean. He adored spending time with his seven grandchildren and surprising them with sweet treats.
 

Jack was "the host with the most" at all gatherings with family and friends. His smile, quick wit, and funny stories made everyone feel welcome. Jack was a kind, generous, and fun character who will be missed dearly.  

 

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children, Jacqueline (& Tom) Gosselin, Chester, MD, JoAnna (& John) Bachand, East Norriton, PA, and Sean (& Allison) Foley of Greenwich, CT; his brothers, Tom (& Bea) Foley Sr., Locust Hill, VA and Gary (& Kathy) Foley, Limerick, PA; his sisters, Linda (& Jack) Ochnich, Norristown, PA, Karen Connors, Oaks, PA and Chrissi (& Joe) Gambone, Gilbertsville, PA; his sister-in-law, Nancy Foley; and his grandchildren, Madison, Jake, Carter, Julianna, Jenna, Conner and Kayleigh.

 

In addition to his parents, Jack is predeceased by his brother, Joseph “Jay” Foley.

 

His Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM from Visitation B.V.M. RC Church, 196 North Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. 

 

Friends may call on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the church. There will be Words of Remembrance before mass begins.
