Obituary of Jeanne E. Dilks

Jeanne E. Dilks

Jeanne E. ( Cressman ) Dilks, 92, of Conshohocken, PA passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

She was born in Norristown, PA on August 9, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Franklin C. and the late Bertha (Hofmann) Cressman.

She was the wife of the late - William C. Dilks, Sr.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Jane Staquet, and four siblings: Laura Virginia Norris, Franklin C. Cressman, Jr., Ronald B. Cressman, and Eddie P. Norris

Survivors include, Son William C. (& Sandra Coster) Dilks, Jr. of Palm Springs, FL, Son James G. (& Donna L.) Dilks of Conshohocken, PA, Brother James E. (& Patricia T.) Cressman of Lake Worth, FL, Sister In-law Betty Cressman of Lake Clarke Shores, FL, and Son-In-Law Frank Staquet of Clifton Heights, PA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Elisabeth (& John), Jim, Vicky (& Josh), John, and Sean, and her great grandchildren Haley, Bryanna, John, Nicholas, and Vinny.

Jeanne grew up in Cedar Heights and has lived near Conshohocken all her life.

She was a member of Cold Point Baptist Church and a former member of Spring Mill Baptist Church.

She also served Honorably in the US Navy Reserve from 1948 to 1952.

Jeanne was active in the Eastern Star organization for many years and was a past Worthy Matron (1988-89) of the Banner Chapter # 149 O. E. S. of Conshohocken.

She was a wonderful homemaker, who throughout most of her adult life, also worked for several well-known businesses in various key Administrative roles.

Jeanne also had an adventurous streak.  After graduating from Conshohocken High School, she took a solo bus trip around the Country as far away as California.  She loved traveling and took many more trips around the Country.  One of her favorite things was taking her grandchildren on trips to Florida.  To everyone’s surprise, she also went on a whitewater rafting trip on the New River in West Virginia when she was in her 60’s!

In addition to traveling, Jeanne also enjoyed many activities such as: bowling, cooking, baking, seamstress, and bingo as a social event.  However, the one activity she enjoyed most throughout her life was gardening.  From a young age until recently she was always working with plants in the garden outdoors or potted plants indoors.

One of the benefits Jeanne enjoyed after retirement was being a Snowbird.  She would spend the Winters, and sometimes extending through the Spring, in Florida while staying with her son away from the cold weather.

In addition to her worldly activities, Jeanne was a great believer in God and Church.  She maintained her faith her entire life.  She also introduced her children and grandchildren to God at an early age.

She will be greatly missed by many people including her family and friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggerio Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA for a time of visitation.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Ettinger of Cold Point Baptist Church.

Interment will be on Thursday February 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM in George Washington Memorial Park, 100 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, Pa 19462.
