Obituary of Madeline Madi Santangelo

Madeline Santangelo

Madeline (Walker) Santangelo, of Poinciana, FL, passed away March 4, 2022.  Madeline (Madi) was born on November 21, 1944, the daughter of John and Katherine Walker – and favorite niece of Theresa Krotchko (Aunt Tess). Madi lived in Florida for the past seven years with her partner Richard Wilde, she is formerly of Collegeville, PA.

Madeline is survived by her partner, Richard Wilde of Poinciana, FL, her three children and her grandchildren.  Daughter Mari Santangelo Morris and her husband Andy Morris of Havre de Grace, MD.  Daughter Monica Santangelo Daley and her partner Jamie Donoghue of King of Prussia, PA.  Son Michael Santangelo, Jr. and his wife Tara Santangelo of Royersford, PA.  Grandchildren Mel Daley, Mason Daley, Sara Santangelo, Jake Santangelo and Andrew Morris.

Along with her parents and beloved Aunt Tess, Madi was preceded in death by her sister Jean Hertzog and her brother Jack Walker.

Madi is a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School, class of 1962.  She attended Montgomery County Community College in the early 1970’s to get her real estate license.  After her youngest child graduated from college, Madi went back to school.  She graduated from Rosemont College, Cum laude, with her B.A. in May, 2000.

Madi started as a realtor with Ward Real Estate in the mid-1970’s and worked hard to become the owner of the company.  She transitioned the company into Century 21 Ward Real Estate, and ultimately Re/Max Achievers before retiring in 2014.  During her time as a realtor in the Collegeville area, Madi served as the President of the Business and Professional Women’s Club for many years.  Madi then started volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in the late 1980’s and continued with Habitat for Humanity in the Kissimmee area when she moved to Florida. Madi valued hard work and home. Whether people bought a home through her as a realtor, or they got her help to own a home through Habitat for Humanity – Madi helped thousands of people get into a home of their own.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Moore, Snear and Ruggiero Funeral Home at 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA.

Friends and Family may call on Sunday at the funeral home from 12:00 -1:00 PM with memorial immediately following.
