Obituary of Catherine M. Bowe

Catherine M. Bowe  

 

Catherine M. (McAleer) Bowe, 92, of Frederick, PA passed peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.  Cate was lovingly cared for by the staff of Frederick Living for the past 3 years.

She was born and raised in Drexel Hill, PA on May 2, 1929, the daughter of the late James B. and the late Anna (Gaffney) McAleer.

She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Drexel Hill, PA.

Cate has been living in Frederick, PA since 2019, formerly of Limerick and West Conshohocken where she raised her family. She was a member of St. Gertrude RC Church, West Conshohocken, but more recently of St. Teresa of Calcutta in Schwenksville, PA.

She was a homemaker and also worked for High, Swartz, Roberts and Seidel Law Firm in Norristown, PA as an estate administrator.

She was a loving devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother with many nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed spending time with her family playing games.  Her hobbies included playing cards, piano, traveling, theater, concerts, going to the beach and singing in the church choir. She was devoted to her Catholic faith.  

She was the beloved wife of the late Martin A. Bowe, Jr.

Survivors include daughter Rosemarie (& Kenneth) Webb of Boothwyn, PA, son Michael (& Deborah) Bowe of Elizabeth City, NC, daughter Catherine (& Chuck) Zadroga of  Pottstown, PA, son James (& Lynn) Bowe of Largo, FL, daughter Maureen (& James) Kelleher of Newfield, NJ, daughter Bernadette (& John) Wisienski of Royersford, PA, daughter Anne (& Wayne Myers) Polowczuk of Hatfield, PA, sisters Elizabeth Brandt of Limerick, PA, Cecilia Moore of Sinking Springs, PA, Frances Desilets of Malvern, PA.  She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son Martin A. Bowe, III, sisters Anne Dunn, Mary Kotarski and Therese Gregory and a son in law Steve Polowczuk.

Her Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the church. 

Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
