Obituary of Dennis M. Brennan, Sr.

Dennis Michael Brennan, Sr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 74. Born on April 26, 1948, in Norristown, PA, he was the son of Thomas and Lorraine (Haney) Brennan.

Denny was a resident of West Norriton since 1983 and previously lived in Conshohocken. He honorably served as an aircraft controller in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He graduated from the Bowman Technical School in Lancaster with a degree in goldsmithing. He served as past president of the Port Indian Civic and Boating Association. He created and coordinated an annual memorial service at Westover Golf Club for the heroes and victims of the 9/11 tragedy.

Denny was thoughtful and caring, witty and wise, gregarious and charismatic, empathetic and sentimental. He was a terrific conversationalist! He loved airplanes, fine art, and music, especially jazz. He was truly proud of his children and expressed his love freely. He was loyal to his friends and welcoming to strangers. He looked for connection in each encounter. He understood how complicated and fragile life can be and sought meaning not only in the bigger moments, but also in the subtle and the mundane. He believed in celebration and his life was a true reflection of that philosophy.

Denny is survived by his loving wife, Susan J. Brennan (Fingo) of West Norriton; daughter, Sarah (& David) Reagan of Conshohocken; son, Thomas Brennan, III of West Norriton; son, Dennis (& Stacie) Brennan, Jr. of Coopersburg; daughter, Rachel Brennan (& Nicholas Orman) of Bridgeport; daughter, Mary “Molly” Brennan of Philadelphia; brother, Thomas Brennan, Jr.; sister, Gerarda (& Howard) Bowman; sister, Maureen (& Ralph) Serago; brother, Bernard Brennan; and five grandchildren, Sophia & Colby Reagan, Bailey and Fiona Brennan, and Nicholas Orman, Jr.

A memorial service in honor of Dennis will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 19 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA, 19401. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Monday morning from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans.

Denny will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. His memory will be cherished, and he will forever remain in our hearts.
