I was a work-study student for Herb at PCOM and eventually took over for him after his retirement. Herb taught me everything I needed to know and more throughout our time together. Many mornings he would insist on buying me breakfast and we would sit and catch up. He was an amazing mentor and friend.

My deepest condolences to Jane and Herb and their families on the passing of Uncle Herb. He was such a wonderful father to both of them and a wonderful husband to my Aunt Lois. I enjoyed all my one on one conversations with my Uncle as I was growing up. I remember when I was about 5, he had a tape recorder and had my sister, cousin Herb and I sitting on the steps in the living room and asking us questions into that tape recorder. I just wish someone would find that tape now. He was passionate about his work and I admired that about him that he worked so long into his later years. Uncle Herb, you were loved and will be missed greatly. Thank you for being my Uncle - Lois

Herb was a sweet man, who had a beautiful smile. I will never forget his smile. I looked forward to that smile each week, when I would do my visit with him. He had a really fun personality, and always had me leaving the room with a smile, even when I wasn't having a great day. I will miss him, and I will pray for your family, with this great loss.
