Obituary of Mary Ellen Agnes Gasparo
Mary Gasparo was born July second and had always been referred to as a 'firecracker'.
To know Mary was to know love, compassion and humility. Her soul was unwaivering in her fondness for rescuing and comforting animals. You could gaunrantee a phone call, a card, and constant concern from her when she felt you needed it. She always knew when and how to make a person feel welcomed and reassured. She had empathy for everyone and everthing around her, especially the underdog. Her life did not come easy, and yet she met every challenge and obstacle head on with determination which is unmatched. Yet, she was incredibly humble.
She met her husband Rick, as a child. They grew up together as neighbors, and spent a lifetime together. But they could not have known the fate they would share as beyond friends which grew into mutual love and respect which would become a union of marriage on October 8th, 1977. They went onto buy their first home and have two children. Together they created a life filled with many traditions, and memories which her children have continued with their own children.
Mary knew how to make any event special. She knew how to make friends easily, and she was easy to be friends with. She was not difficult to make happy, nor did she need elaborate tokens of apprecation. She simply loved the idea of being thought of. Small tokens such as a call, or message, even a hand written note.
She adored her six grandchildren and the time she spent with them. You could tell by time she would sit with them, sing to them, and play games. She gave as much love as she received and her grandchildren had plenty.
Each day will be more difficult without her and as a family we will remain strong for her and keep the many things she enjoyed close to us as a way to keep her close. Remember the little things in life are the greates things. She would be pleased to know each time you apprecated small gestures it was to honor her.
