Obituary of Donald E. Baxindine

Donald E. Baxindine, age 75, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the Southeastern Veterans' Center in Spring City, PA.

 

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 1, 1948, son of the late William and Margaret (Fish) Baxindine; beloved husband of 51 years to Joanne (Della Pietro) Baxindine of Royersford, PA; father to Geoff Baxindine (wife Kourtney) of Douglassville, PA, and Cindy Baxindine of East Coventry, PA; beloved “Pops” to grandchildren Audrey, Markus, Chase, and Lincoln; brother to the late William Baxindine (and his late wife Edna) and the late Kathleen D’Alessio (wife of surviving Richard D’Alessio); and brother-in-law to Joseph Della Pietro (Barbara Jean Scianna) of Poughkeepsie, NY. He is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

Don was raised in Horsham, PA and has been living in Royersford since 1974. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart Medal. 

                                                                          

He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Eleanor RC Church where he served on Pastoral Council, supported many church and school fundraisers, served as a member of the Home and School Association, on the Board of the CYO, and coached soccer. 

  

His Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Eleanor RC Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426.  Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Church. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dekalb Pike, Norristown, PA, 19401.
