Obituary of Harry R. Golden
Harry R. Golden
Harry R. Golden, 78, of Elverson, PA passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 21, 1942, the son of the late Raymond and Catharine Golden.
A graduate of Villanova (B.S. Electrical Engineering) and Penn State University (M.S. Electrical Engineering), Harry worked as a Division Chief for the Defense Contract Management Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense, until he retired in 2002. He received several honors during his 39-year career with the Federal Government, including the Distinguished Career Services Award.
Harry's life was filled with family and friends and many hobbies and activities. Whether splitting his own firewood, feeding the birds, or building and maintaining his own walking trails, he loved his backyard.
However, Harry’s real love was his family. When his grandchildren/great-grandchildren visited, he delighted in their company. Quick with a smile, he enjoyed pushing them in the hammock, teaching them his knot tying skills and working with them on brainteasers. They loved his laughter, jokes, and the attention he showered on them.
Harry will always be remembered for his kindness and warmth. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife Natalie (Alessio) Golden, son Raymond (& Janet) Golden of Idledale, CO, son Brian (& Karen) Golden of Greenville, SC, daughter Lynn (& Kent) Miller of Jacksonville, FL, and son David (& Holly) Golden of Cape May, NJ. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marie Hauser.
A Celebration-of-Life Mass will be held at St. Titus Roman Catholic Church, 3006 Keenwood Road, Norristown, PA 19403, on Friday August 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
Friends may call on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the church
